Job description
JOB SUMMARY: Primarily responsible for the onboarding of new employees. Assists with attending interviews, processing pre-employment screenings, sending offer letters, employee relations, employee benefit enrollment and various other assigned Human Resource projects. Work independently, exercise judgment, and provide clerical support to various staff members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent is required. College degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field is preferred. Proficient use of Microsoft Office products is required.
Experience: Prefer broad experience working in healthcare. Proficient computer skills and working knowledge and experience with various pieces of office equipment.
License/Registration: None required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Planning and Prioritizing
Arrange and organize new employee orientation. Assess and prioritize work assignments from multiple staff in order to meet deadlines.
Information Gathering
Consult appropriate staff and resources to respond accurately to inquiries from the applicants, physicians, and other staff members. Access the Social Security Administration web-site to determine valid name and number match. Access the appropriate websites to preform pre-employment criminal background checks and drug screens.
Decision-Making
Ability to make a good decision after acquiring pertinent information from appropriate individuals and/or resources with managerial supervision when necessary.
Communication
Prepare confidential documents and maintain confidentiality for all forms of communication. Effectively communicate with others through verbal and written skills to accomplish tasks and projects. Report all new hires to the State of Washington’s Department of Health & Human Services Child Support division.
Technical Proficiency
Assists with general human resource functions and activities. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Skilled in composing written communications with proficiency in spelling and grammar. Assists with reference check on prospective employees.
Teamwork
Assist other hospital/ clinic departments and team leaders in addition to regular responsibilities of position. Coordinate the scheduling of new hires for hospital and departmental orientation. Prepare and distribute paperwork for hospital orientation to newly hired employees. Assists in resolving departmental, interdepartmental, and interpersonal issues by working with employees as needed.

Ensure that a high level of service is provided to the customers of the human resource function. Interact with others in a professional manner.

Aid employees as needed with questions regarding human resource and benefit enrollment questions they may have. Educates other staff on a variety of issues including compensation, benefits, performance reviews, job descriptions, legal issues, and other human resource issues.

Consistently communicate and collaborate with colleagues about decisions which involve legal and ethical issues.

Arrange spaces for special events. Perform other non-essential functions as requested.

Occasional lifting/carrying of supplies and equipment weighing between 20-40 pounds.
Occasional pushing/pulling of supplies and equipment weighing between 20-40 pounds.
Occasional climbing of stairs to reach other levels of the building.
Occasional stooping/kneeling/crouching to reach items on low shelves and to get into low cabinets.
Occasional reaching/handling to work with supplies equipment.
Frequent fingering to perform work tasks with computer, typewriter, and telephone.
Frequent talking/hearing/seeing to perform public relations tasks.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Location: Inside.
Minimal risk of injury due to proximity of moving parts on computer printer, typewriter, and copier.
Minimal exposure to biohazardous materials.
Pay Range:
$25.89-$38.22 Hourly
