The continued expansion of McFarland Johnson's airport and aviation consulting practice offers an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Senior Aviation Planner/Project Manager looking to advance their career with a firm recognized for its innovation and client focused services.
The Regional Aviation Planning Manager is responsible for managing a team of airport planning professionals to successfully develop, manage, and execute aviation planning projects and staff assignments in the Southeast region. The individual in this role will work closely with airport stakeholders as well as local, state, and federal agencies, to ensure airport development projects are completed efficiently and effectively based on strategic thinking and technical analyses.
Successful candidates must be self-motivated, exhibit the ability to independently lead and manage multiple simultaneous aviation assignments and technical staff. Technical work responsibilities will include completion and oversite of aviation planning assignments, including but not limited to, all aspects of airport master plans, AutoCAD drawing development, AviPlan and/or AirTops aircraft and airport modeling, capacity and facility demand/throughput analyses, development of airport layout plan sets, land use and development planning, airport business planning, and preparation of programming and project definition documents. The Regional Aviation Planning Manager will manage and lead airport planning activities for airside and landside components at airports ranging in size and complexity from small/non-hub to large hub commercial service facilities.
Additional work responsibilities will include managing and working with airport sponsors regarding day-to-day operational planning issues, managing multi-discipline planning project tasks, schedule, and budget, identifying regulatory agency (FAA and FDOT) requirements for airport operations and development, and evaluating proposed improvements to meet these requirements and developing project scopes and budgets. Experience supporting project pursuit and proposal development activities will be preferred.
