The Regional Sales VP will be responsible for performance that is consistent with our strategic direction along with the business growth of customers covered by a group of Inside Sales Associates. You will help create sales and marketing strategies and manage $500 - $550 million in business and direct responsibility for approximately 100+ sales employees (5+ Inside Sales Managers and around 100 Inside Sales Associates).
We are seeking a candidate who resides in the San Antonio area or is willing to relocate there. You will report to the Vice President of Inside Sales.
- Produce profitable sales growth for customers assigned to the region; prioritize resources against largest opportunities.
- Achieve growth and profitability targets by assigning sales growth targets.
- Increase sales team size, structure, and understanding to maximize sales team productivity.
- Select, coach, retain, and inspire Inside Sales Managers in the region. Help create development plans.
- Provide sales leadership and demonstrate understanding of sales environment and issues (e.g., growth prospects, sales team turnover).
- Help create sales and marketing strategies ensuring that there is agreement on the branch service organization.
- Plan with service organizations in the region (e.g., Branches, Service Centers, Distribution Centers, Implementation Team, National Accounts, and Government).
- Collaborate with other teams internally and focus and maintain important customer relationships.
- Develop customer attraction and retention programs. Assist Inside Sales Managers in their understanding and commitment to live the Grainger values.
- An undergraduate degree or have equivalent related experience, MBA preferred. In-depth knowledge of inside sales strategy and marketing, customers and their requirements, and the competitive environment.
- Knowledge is required of the legal and regulatory issues which affect the business.
- Manage a diverse and geographically dispersed sales team. Excellent facilitation skills necessary to coach and counsel teams.
- Must be experienced at identifying leaders and creating opportunities for developing the potential. Must be experienced in resource allocation and use.
- Create business strategies, cost/budgets, and economic earnings.
