Dental Hygienist Job Requirements:

A successful Hygienist will have the following skills and exhibit these behaviors.

• Minimum of an Associates degree in Dental Hygiene, Bachelor's degree a plus
• 1-3 years of experience
• Valid NY Dental Hygienist license
• CPR Certification

Dental Hygienist Key Job Responsibilities:

• Follow through with oral hygiene procedures and prescribe a treatment plan for patients. Procedures may include: prophylaxis, periodontal scaling, root planning, debridement, application of fluoride treatments, application of Arrestin, and application of protective sealants.
• Evaluate overall oral health, examining oral cavity for signs of periodontal disease or possible cancers, including sores, recessed & bleeding gums, and oral lesions.
• Document dental history or chief complaint; records and reports pertinent observations and patient reactions to dental staff, as appropriate
• Take x-rays
• Maintain and sterilize dental equipment
• Utilize intraoral or extraoral camera
• Ensure office success by getting patients into the office

Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
