Missouri Highlands Health Care is seeking a Dental Hygienist for a busy family practice.

MHHC is a Federally Qualified Health Center who commits to providing high quality, cost effective care and services to all patients, regardless of payer source. MHHC places particular emphasis on care provided to uninsured and underinsured patients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Scaling and polishing teeth (prophylaxis)
• Applying dental sealants
• Periodontal root planning, debridement, & Curettage
• Nonsurgical periodontal procedures
• Obtain radiographs as prescribed by the Dentist
• Indirect Supervision Administer nitrous oxide analgesia
• Administer local anesthesia
• Expanded functions – if dental hygienist is certified to perform.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assesses dental condition and needs of patient using patient screening procedures, including medical history review, dental charting, and periodontal charting.

• Delivers direct patient care using established dental hygienist procedures.
• Takes patient vital signs, as needed.
• Makes impressions of patients' teeth for study casts
• Record Keeping
• Documents patient dental history and chief complaint
• Records and reports pertinent observations and patient reactions to dental staff
• Documents lab procedures and ensuring follow up on results
• Teaches patients how to prevent tooth decay and gum disease through proper diet and oral homecare

• Cleans and sterilizes instruments

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $61,000.00 per year

COVID-19 considerations:
Per CMS guidelines, staff must be vaccinated or have an approved exemption on file and undergo weekly testing. Exemption requests are available.

Experience:

• Dental: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Registered Dental Hygienist License (Required)
• BLS Certification (Preferred)
