Transitions Healthcare North Huntingdon is currently seeking a part-time Registered Dietician. This person will be responsile to plan, organize, coordinate, and evalute the nutritional components of dietary services for the facility.

Registered Dietician Job Highlights:

• Completes clinical duties and documentation accurately and timely (i.e, Nutritional assessments, quarterly progress notes, significant change updates, progress notes on nutritional at risk residents, MDSs, care plans, discharge plans as well as conducts resident interviews and processes diet orders).
• Counsel residents, their responsible parties and facility staff on sound nutritional practices to promote good health.
• Oversees the weight management program, assesses, and monitors resident’s nutritional status, makes recommendations for nutrition intake, and instructs individuals about food selection, preparation, and principles of good nutrition. Reviews weights, meal consumption sheets, snacks, and supplements for accuracy.
• Oversees the duties and functions of the Dietary Director and other staff as instructed by the Company from time to time.
• Provides recommendation for resident’s nutritional care to the interdisciplinary team to include diets, meal patterns, snacks, supplements and vitamins, weight frequency and other means of nutrition.
• Provide technical guidance and administrative direction over diet planning menu formulation, and preparation and service of regular and therapeutic diets.
• Collaborates with the Dietary Director who on a regularly scheduled basis and solicits advice from interdepartmental supervisors regarding resident dietary concerns. Assist in identifying and correcting problem areas and/or improvement of services.
• Works closely with Administrator and Dietary Director in resolving any grievances or problems related to Dietary Department.

Registered Dietician Qualifications:

• Credentialed as a Registered Dietician
• One year experience in a health care setting preferred
