About The Job:

This position accepts the responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care during the cardiology patients’/families’ stay through the use of the nursing process. Directs patient/family education and delegates to ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.

What we are looking for:

Education:

• Graduate of a program in professional nursing

• Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa.

Experience:

• Previous experience in acute care preferred .

Special Skills, Competencies, and Aptitudes:

• Ability to meet on-call requirements - call schedule is typically 1 night/week, every 4th-5th weekend, and 1-2 holidays/year.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including flexibility with daily starting and ending times.

• Must have proficient computer skills.

• Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, AmericanHeart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only)via current card prior to employment or within 30 days of hire and maintains current status.

• Completes Mandatory Reporting requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years.

• Completes Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association within 30 days of hire and maintains current status.

• Completion of Mercy Critical Care courses (ECCO), or an equivalent, is required in first year of hire.

• Must pass Cardiac Dysrhythmia exam on yearly basis to maintain competency.
