About The Job:
This position accepts the responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care during the cardiology patients’/families’ stay through the use of the nursing process. Directs patient/family education and delegates to ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.
What we are looking for:
Education:
Graduate of a program in professional nursing
Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa.
Experience:
Previous experience in acute care preferred .
Special Skills, Competencies, and Aptitudes:
Ability to meet on-call requirements - call schedule is typically 1 night/week, every 4th-5th weekend, and 1-2 holidays/year.
Ability to work flexible hours, including flexibility with daily starting and ending times.
Must have proficient computer skills.
Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, AmericanHeart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only)via current card prior to employment or within 30 days of hire and maintains current status.
Completes Mandatory Reporting requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years.
Completes Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association within 30 days of hire and maintains current status.
Completion of Mercy Critical Care courses (ECCO), or an equivalent, is required in first year of hire.
Must pass Cardiac Dysrhythmia exam on yearly basis to maintain competency.
