Registered Nurse, Hematology/Oncology
Job description
Part-time RN position supporting the Hematology & Oncology Clinic available in La Crosse, WI.
- 64 hours per two week pay period; 0.8 FTE
- Clinic hours are 8am - 4:30pm
- 8-hour shifts with staggered start and end times to cover early and late (5pm) needs
- One rotating day off per week
- No weekends, holidays, or call obligation
Nurses in Hematology & Oncology provide compassionate care in the clinic and over the phone to all cancer patients. Triaging phone calls for cancer patients, educating newly diagnosed cancer patients, coordinating care for patients within the clinic and other multidisciplinary clinics. Working closely with providers to support the cancer patients journey. Daily tasks support working with oncology patients while becoming knowledgeable with solid tumor and blood cancers and their treatments. Care includes managing patient through chemotherapy, radiation therapy or other treatments. Opportunity to float within the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders to support other departments. Cancer Center staff work closely with Radiation Oncology, Infusion Services, Lab, Palliative Care, Pathology, and Surgical Departments to give comprehensive care to our patients both in La Crosse and our outreach service lines, including Tomah Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.
