Homeward Bound is a non-profit organization that provides home and community based services to people with intellectual and physical disabilities in a residential group home setting. We have 20 locations in Hennepin County. We follow a person-centered, active support approach to ensure that the individuals with disabilities we serve have a hand in directing their services and a voice concerning their future. We place no limits on what a person is capable of accomplishing. Every day we work to empower those we serve and their families with the resources to make informed decisions and control their own destiny.

This position requires a current LPN nursing license in the state of MN.

Join our team and make a difference in people's lives while developing valuable nursing skills in a home-like setting with a small nurse to client ratio.

Our LPN positions include a $1000 sign on bonus paid within the first 30 days of hire.

This is a weekend only position which can work up to 32 hours per weekend and must work a minimum of 16 hours per weekend.

The Weekend Nurse Floater position will support multiple Homeward Bound locations (all in Hennepin County).

Weekend Nurse Floater Job Duties

• Administer medication and treatments
• Assessments and monitoring of individual health issues
• Communication and education of unlicensed staff regarding individual medical conditions, medication, and treatments
• Communication with families regarding individual medical conditions
• Ability to handle an emergency situation and give direction to others

Weekend Nurse Floater Requirements:

• Current nursing license in the state of MN.
• A valid Minnesota driver's license with a good driving record is mandatory.
• You must be able to lift a minimum of 60 pounds as most of our individuals require assistance with transfers.
• You must be able to understand, speak, read, and write the English language.
• Because we provide services to vulnerable children and adults Homeward Bound will only employ applicants who pass a criminal background check.
• Homeward Bound employees are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have an approved religious or medical exemption prior to orientation.
