Summary
Owensboro Health’s Traveler Conversion Program provides you with a flexible employment option while receiving premium pay. Nurses who choose to participate in the program will be directly employed by Owensboro Health. Your employment will be a temporary assignment , through our internal agency. Participants receive an hourly wage of $70/hour.
Participants are required to work a minimum of thirty-six (36) hours a week and work the equivalent of every other weekend. Participants may be required to pick up additional shift based on the needs of the organization.
You may not be considered for this program if you have been employed by Owensboro Health or any of its entities within the last ten (10) years.
At the conclusion of this assignment, Owensboro Health may choose to extend an offer for an additional assignment. If not, you may choose to apply for any full-time or part-time vacancies within the organization or may choose to stay with Owensboro Health in a PRN status and will be provided a fixed, PRN rate of pay. Otherwise, your employment with Owensboro Health will end at the conclusion of this assignment.
Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.
- Implements and monitors patient care plans.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
- Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with patient/family and members of the healthcare team.
- Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.
- Performs job duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
- Maintains certifications such as BLS, ACLS, etc. per assigned department and contract requirements.
- Associate's degree or higher or Diploma in Nursing required upon hire
- No experience required
- RN - Licensed as a Registered Nurse. Eligible to practice nursing in the State of Kentucky required upon hire AND
- BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 45 days of employment in this position AND
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 12 months of employment in this position
- Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
- Works under minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
