This is a 2023 Summer position.
This staff will have the important job of checking in and checking out participant groups. Arrivals occur throughout the week, but Saturday and Sunday will be especially busy days with the previous week's groups leaving and the next week's groups arriving. This staff will guide them through the arrival and departure processes and make sure they are squared away with all payments and paperwork. This staff will operate out of the Ruby Welcome Center, offsite.
This is not a Monday-Friday, 9-5 job. Expect to work weekends and possibly long hours on some days.

Reports To: Registration Lead
Principle Responsibilities:
Executes the day-to-day operations of the Registration/Check-in area located offsite at the J.W. and Hazel Ruby Welcome Center.
Oversees and coordinates the participant check-in activities. Coordinates with Guest Services and Base Camp staff to assist with check-in of late arrival participants.
- Provide cheerful and helpful service to all Summit Bechtel Reserve participants, guests and staff; where possible, address their needs and/or concerns; where not possible, steer them to someone who can
- Demonstrate the Aims and Methods of Scouting to all participants and staff
- Carry out and enforce the policies and procedures outlined in the Summit Bechtel Reserve Staff Handbook
- Become a knowledgeable resource by familiarizing yourself and your staff with all program and operations of the Summit Bechtel Reserve
- Present oneself to every participant and guest in a clean and sharp manner - correctly uniformed as described in the Staff Guidebook
- Welcome and assist with participant crews during check-in at the Ruby Welcome Center
- Meet with advisors of groups and individuals upon arrival and review their paperwork, charges and payments; make arrangements for collection of monies prior to departure dates.
- Resolve customer service issues in a thorough and timely manner
- Prepare attendance reports as directed. Communicate potential problems to staff administration in a timely manner
- Maintain a close relationship with High Adventure Program Guides, Scout Camp Administration and Training Center staff regarding arrivals
- Write an end-of-season report to include recommendations for improving the operation of the area
- Any other duties as assigned by full-time staff and/or direct supervisor
Qualifications & Training:
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
- Solid interpersonal communication abilities
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to multi-task
- Scouting and camp experience preferred (Previous Summit experience preferred)
- Familiarity with Microsoft software (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Comfortable learning new software (Certain Reservation system)
- Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic with a genuine desire to provide outstanding service.
- Must have or be able to obtain Red Cross Standard First Aid and CPR Adult certifications
- Be or become a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America
- 18 Years old or older
Physical Requirements:
- Must be comfortable spending time sitting and standing in an office environment.
- Must meet the Summit Bechtel Reserve's high adventure height/weight requirements as laid out in the Summit BSA Health & Medical Record.
Uniform:
- SBR blue polo or BSA Field Uniform (Scouts BSA, Venturing, or Sea Scout)
- Shorts/Pants should be of the appropriate length/size/appropriateness for a Scouting setting.
- Shoes should be neat/clean and show the appearance of being new or slightly worn. No wild colors.
