Position Overview
Position Overview:
Identify mechanical problems and perform mechanical repairs as needed. Troubleshoot and resolve panel/machine issues affecting productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Safely perform basic and complex troubleshooting of equipment
- Safely make mechanical repairs using knowledge and experience of mechanical systems and practices
- Responsible for the installation and maintenance of items such as mechanical power transmission equipment, rollers (godets), winders, texturizer boxes, compressed air systems, bearings, pumps and any other part/system relating to Extrusion equipment
- Learn all hazards and safety precautions of all procedures
- Follow oral and written work instructions
- Report to management any quality and safety problems and potential production problems that are encountered while performing the job
- Perform all duties in a safe manner without bodily injury to self or others
- Perform all related job duties and other responsibilities assigned by supervisor or department manager
- Learn and use EZ Entry/TPM system to set up and receive work instructions
- Actively participate in Tier meetings
- Coach operators on troubleshooting of panels
Requirements:
- Must have at least 1 year of Extrusion experience (Operator level or above)
- Must be able to use basic math skills - add, subtract, multiply, divide (whole numbers, fractions, decimals)
- Must be able to read and understand basic maintenance/mechanical terms and definitions
- Must be able to identify, select and use proper tools for repair functions
- Must be able to read mechanical drawings/sketches
- Must be able to identify proper lubricants for mechanical applications
- Must be able to read and understand information from charts, graphs and manuals
- Must possess good communication skills, both written and oral, to management and other mechanics
Preferred Skills:
- Verifiable experience performing mechanical work
- Verifiable experience repairing machinery
- Verifiable prior training in the area of industrial maintenance
- Verifiable experience using precision measurement tools (both US and metric)
- Verifiable leadership experience
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk and climb stairs for twelve (12) hours
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, lift, carry and reach on a routine basis
- Ability to handle the stress of a fast paced environment
Work Shift
12 Hr rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Act Calendar, days & AM/PM start time changes in the rotation
