A REMOTE Electrical Engineer Cabinet Designer job is currently available at Belcan. This is a full time, direct job with full benefits working remotely from anywhere in the U.S. Great matching candidates will have at least five years of experience as an Electrical Engineer and a bachelor's degree. You will be a part of the Continuing Engineering department, working on the development of and maintenance/enhancement of Commercial Nuclear applications. In this role, it is expected that this engineer will be responsible for the completion of one or more technical activities of moderate complexity, on time and budget. Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems. Review customer specifications and requirements, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable. Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments. Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services. Drive the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements. May develop prototypes to retire key development risks.

REMOTE Electrical Engineer Cabinet Designer job duties:
  • Design and development of state-of-the-art Instrumentation and Control systems for both naval and commercial nuclear applications
  • Finalizing the cabinet design, including but not limited to:
  • Cabinet layout
  • Front Panel designs
  • Develop wiring diagrams and associated documentation for internal cabinet wiring
  • Includes internal cabinet wire routing
  • Harness board drawings - as required
  • Working with a sub-tier supplier (through supply chain) to ensure that cabinet design meets the system requirements.
  • Assist in the structural analysis to ensure successful seismic testing
  • Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) at the cabinet level
  • Assist in the development of the Maintenance and Troubleshooting Technical Manual
  • Communicate with the customer and internal management as a technical expert in order to achieve cost effective, technically compliant solutions.
  • Ability to plan and schedule the completion of multiple conflicting priorities
  • Provide schedule, and technical compliance updates to management in order to effectively manage the execution of tasks.
  • Complete assigned tasks on time
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Qualifications:
  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience
  • Familiarity with Nuclear Quality Assurance requirements. Specifically NQA-1 and 10CFR50 Appendix B, is a plus
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills to aid communications within the engineering community
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
  • ยท Familiarity with CREO and CREO Schematic. Other cables harness tools such as RSD is a plus.
  • Ability to work with engineering teams across product lines
  • Ability to multitask and be able to address multiple issues in parallel
  • Experience in support of manufacturing including but not limited to purchasing, quality control, manufacturing engineering and test
  • Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn
  • U.S Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance are also requirements for the position

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $110,000 to $125,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline. Benefits offered may include health care, dental, vision, life insurance; 401(k); education assistance; paid time off including PTO, holidays, and any other paid leave required by law.
