Job Title: Controls Engineer

Location: : Dayton Ohio

Job Type: Fulltime/ Permanent

Position Summary

We have an immediate opening for an Engineer with software and hardware experience in industrial applications, primarily for measurement & process control equipment.

Ideal candidates should be passionate about blending software and hardware skills, and "using software to make hardware dance". Must possess a process mentality and be eager to tackle challenging projects involving industrial applications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Above all, the right candidate must have an enthusiasm to learn and collaborate on exciting capital products and projects in industrial environments.

Responsibilities

  • Work with customers and project management to understand specific customer needs and application details.
  • Develop plans, schematics, and programs to add or modify equipment functionality as required for the specific application.
  • Identify and specify software and hardware to meet the quoted equipment design.
  • Integrate the required components, including x-ray generators, detectors, laser measuring equipment with PLC’s or industrial computers including communication interfacing from and to the customer.
  • Provide problem solving and troubleshooting for customer issues.
  • Provide technical assistance for field service technicians as they resolve field issues.
  • Some overnight travel required, including domestic (3-5 days/month) and international (1-3 weeks/year) travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Sciences
  • 3+ Years of Industrial experience preferred.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley (or other brands) PLC Programming, communications programming (Profibus, TCP/IP, EtherNet, etc.)
  • Customer first attitude. Take care of the customer, and they will take care of us!
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Good blueprint reading skills, and general electrical/mechanical proficiency.
  • Experience working in a steel or other metals mills a big plus!
