As a Collection Associate at Paladino Development Group, you will be contacting tenants and collecting outstanding rent payments, and setting up payment plans. Although it can be difficult speaking to people about their past-due finances, Collections are an integral part of our business. your responsibilities will include preparing, posting, verifying, and recording customer payments, creating invoices, maintaining and updating customer files, identifying delinquent accounts, creating reports, researching customer discrepancies, and reconciling accounts receivable on a monthly basis.
To be successful in this role, you will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and, the ability to operate related office equipment, the ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment, excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Job Functions:
- Contact tenants to pursue collection of outstanding balances.
- Handle majority of the collection tasks to limit the need for the Property Manager’s day-to-day involvement.
- Act a primary point-of-contact for tenants.
- Act as liaison with Property Manager and Paralegal by initiating communication, providing information and monitoring overall tenant collection activities.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate collection comments in accounts receivable application.
- Ensure that payments are applied accurately to tenant balances.
- Review late fees related to outstanding tenant balances.
- Review and take appropriate action on terminated account balances.
- Print and mail default letters to tenants with outstanding balances.
- Review at-risk accounts on a daily basis
- Hold weekly meetings with Director Of Property Management
- All other duties as assigned.
