Ace Hardware, a locally owned hardware store, in Chestertown, is looking for a repair technician with experience in glass and windows screen repair.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for providing different services, depending on their area of expertise, and diagnosing problems, and making repairs for various items including but not limited to glass and screens.

Major Responsibilities

• Repairing and manufacturing window screens

• Repairing and manufacturing Sliding door screens

• Replacing glass in window and picture frames

• Repairing Thermopane windows

• Replace glass in fireplace and stove doors

• Cutting glass to order

• Polishing and drilling holes in glass as needed

• Ordering custom glass per customer's specifications

• Minor electrical repairs on lamps and cords

• Maintaining inventory control thru out the glass/screen shop

• Ordering materials to maintain stock levels

• Training all personnel on glass/screen shop procedures

• Communicate with customer in regards to estimates and repairs

• Ensure estimate is approved before repairing

• Ensure customer is charge correctly.

• Order product from 3rd party vendors as needed.

• Maintain tools and equipment used in the glass/screen shop

• Performs other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

-Walking on flat surfaces from point to point

-Lifting Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds comfortably, occasionally

-Hand Dexterity Must be able to use two hands to operate a motor vehicle and perform functions of the job
