Big Timber Pioneer Reporter
The Big Timber Pioneer in southwest Montana is looking for a general assignment reporter to provide coverage for its print edition, digital platforms and social media channels. Big Timber is a tight-knit and friendly town along the Yellowstone River, north of Yellowstone National Park. A destination for outdoor enthusiasts, it's close to world class hiking, fishing, hunting and skiing.
The reporter’s primary focus will be covering a wide variety of events in Big Timber and throughout Sweet Grass County.
The reporter reports to a regional editor.
Essential skills and experience
- Strong English language skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with digital platforms and social media strategy are important.
- Community engagement experience – in person and on social networks, being a professional ambassador for the news organization in the community.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Photography skills preferred.
The Pioneer is owned by Adams Publishing Group. APG offers a choice of two medical plans with varying levels of employee cost-sharing, and employee-paid Dental and Vision options.
