Position Description:

Purpose

Provide support to faculty and staff to facilitate the achievement of the department’s research goals. Under general direction, perform routine and advanced administrative duties requiring considerable skill and in-depth knowledge of organizational policies and procedures.


Primary Functions

  • Anticipate and initiate action regarding administrative functions while coordinating and leading projects.
  • Compile data and information from multiple sources to prepare reports. Create presentations, minutes, letters, memos, and forms.
    • Create complete workflow charts, spreadsheets, databases, and templates.
    • Compose correspondence as needed, which may contain confidential information.
    • Use complex functions of a variety of computer applications and software packages to develop macros and templates.
      • Proofread and format documents to ensure accuracy.
      • Screen telephone calls and visitors to resolve complex inquiries.
      • Coordinate research lecture series; create travel itineraries for speakers and make related arrangements.
      • Process reimbursement requests, requisitions, and invoices.
      • Distribute mail and organize filing systems accurately maintaining records.
      • Coordinate research-related projects such as mailings, tracking participant contact information, and other project-related tracking activities.
        • Track the completion of research-related training for faculty and staff
