RESEARCH STUDY ASSISTANT, School of Medicine, Geriatrics
Job description
The New England Centenarian Study (NECS) is the largest study of people aged 100 and older and their families in the world. We are a dynamic group of physician-researchers, statisticians and post-graduate research associates with varied interests regarding exceptional longevity. The study is based at the Boston University School of Medicine. There are several different studies all related to Centenarians and their offspring being conducted. The NECS believes that the cultural and social diversity of our faculty, staff, and students is vitally important to the distinction and excellence of our research and academic programs. To that end, we are especially eager to have colleagues join us who support our institutional commitment to ensuring BU is inclusive, equitable, diverse, and a place where all constituents can thrive. Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and project manager, the outreach research assistants will primarily assist the study with outreach, recruitment, screening, enrollment, and scheduling of new and returning participants for an in-person assessment. The outreach RA will also collect annual follow up data assessing changes in health and function by telephone. This is an ideal position for college graduates on a pre-med, pre-allied health or pre-PhD track.
