Research Tech II
Liddle Laboratory
Candidate will conduct laboratory studies using tissue culture and mouse models. Studies will be performed both in mice and on cells in vitro. This work involves animal handling and breeding, tissue culture, microscopy, data analysis, statistical analysis, data management, laboratory inventory, and general laboratory techniques and methods.
Candidate is expected to isolate cells from human tissue and mice. Isolated cells will be used to investigate fundamental mechanisms of cell biology.
Candidate will design, plan, and conduct experiments.
Candidate will analyze the experimental results and present the results to other members of the group in an organized way.
Candidate will evaluate the experimental results, trouble shoot problems as they arise, and present and discuss possible solutions with the principal investigator.
Associated with this work, is the proper preparation of tissues, reagents, tools and assays for conducting the experiments.
At the completion of the studies, candidate will prepare reports that reflect thoughtful analysis of the data.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work generally requires a bachelor's degree in botany, biology, zoology, psychology or other directly related scientific field.
Experience
None required above education/training requirement. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
