Bath/Shower/Personal Care Assistant


Department: Nursing Services

FLSA/Classification: Non-exempt/Hourly

Reports to: Charge Nurse

Summary: This position is responsible for assisting residents in bathing, dressing, cutting at meal times, assistance with bed making, etc.

$250 Sign-On Bonus

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring our residents are safe
  • Provides for personal hygiene: gives showers, baths, and shampoos.
  • Reports skin care observations to charge nurse to preserve skin integrity.
  • Taking residents to activities and bringing them back.
  • Provides activities of daily living: provides fresh water and nourishment between meals at the direction of the charge nurse
  • Reports all incidents to the charge nurse immediately. Does not attempt to move a resident that has fallen until the resident has been assessed by the charge nurse.
  • Provides for comfort needs of residents.
  • Works efficiently as a team member in the delivery of care and in assisting in the orientation of new employees.
  • Utilizes resources and materials in a responsible, efficient, and safe manner.
  • Instills confidence in the residents by maintaining a neat appearance and performing duties in a competent, caring, and respectful manner.
  • Shows dependability by being punctual; maintains consistent attendance.
  • Maintains good working relations among all nursing staff and other employees through appropriate communication.
  • Cleans, disinfects, and returns all resident care equipment to its designated storage area after each use.
  • Follows all procedures in the use and disposal of personal protective equipment.
  • Accepts all assignments as needed to provide necessary care for residents.

Minimum Education/Skills/Experience/Credentials:

  • Must be a High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Commitment to excellence
  • Passion for caring for residents in senior living
  • Previous hospital or senior care experience preferred.
  • Must have good interpersonal relations with proven communication skill, both verbal and written
  • Must be flexible

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching such as bathing a resident, wiping spills on floor, making a bed, lifting food trays from a cart, and placing materials on shelves, etc.
  • Must be able to lift 25-50lbs.
  • Frequent walking.
  • Occasionally climbing of stairs, stools, and ladders
