Job description

Lourdeshouse Maternity Home opened its doors to unwed teenage mothers in 1959 with the belief that every unborn child has a God-given right to life, as well as human rights. Lourdeshouse now operates as a 24/7 residential program for adult women with staff who are dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment in which residents have the stability to plan for their future and that of their infant, by taking steps that may be uncomfortable or unknown to them. It is a vessel in which to mentor, guide, teach and/or coach pregnant and postpartum women the necessary parenting and life skills they will need as they work towards independence and self-sufficiency. Many of the women we serve are lacking familial support, are facing a crisis and/or homelessness. Each mother we serve is treated with dignity and respect as they all too often suffer from abusive relationships, lacking self-esteem and confidence in themselves. It is our hope that these mothers will become educated and empowered, through staff motivation and support, they will have gained the knowledge and confidence they need to be independent and self-sufficient during their stay.
