What We Need From You
Barnes Healthcare Services is seeking a Respiratory Team Lead that supports the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization by providing clinical leadership as a subject matter expert for respiratory therapists, maintaining a limited census of patients, coaching and educating patients, recommending and administering appropriate therapies, providing world-class customer service, and facilitating whole patient care.
Essential Functions
- Models and holds others accountable to the Barnes culture and acts as a coach and mentor for others in the organization.
- Maintains a limited patient census within their primary location and acts as a subject matter expert and resource for respiratory therapists in the field.
- Consults with referring physician regarding patient treatment, medical condition, home environment, and Plan of Care.
- Completes new-patient setups, coaches a wide range of patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions on how to use equipment, and provides respiratory disease education.
- Educates patients on, patient rights and financial responsibility and collects payments and signatures where applicable.
- Performs regular checks on patients by performing limited physical examinations (vitals, breath sounds, O2 saturation, and lung capacity tests), and checks equipment to ensure proper use and operation.
- Follows established safeguards when contacting patients in their homes/locations.
- Assesses the patient’s needs and acts accordingly, collaborating with other functions when appropriate to provide exceptional customer service and facilitate whole patient care as efficiently as possible.
- Completes paperwork, charting, and plan of care promptly and accurately and maintains patient confidentiality.
- This position participates in the Call rotation as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field required.
- Current Respiratory Therapist License in good standing within the state of employment is required.
- Clean driving record required
- Two years of applicable experience preferred
