Job Description
We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team! This is a PRN position working 1-2 shifts per week, or as needed. The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) performs all aspects of the cardiopulmonary services department including diagnostic testing of the cardio-pulmonary system according to policy and procedures under the direction of the Medical Director, Department Director and Supervisor.

Position Overview
We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team! This is a PRN position working 1-2 shifts per week, or as needed.
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) performs all aspects of the cardiopulmonary services department including diagnostic testing of the cardio-pulmonary system according to policy and procedures under the direction of the Medical Director and Department Director.
Responsibilities
Assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders- Collects and analyzes blood to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases
- Responds to emergency situations
- Maintains competencies to ensure compliance with all regulatory statutes
- Administers medication and treatments in accordance with policies
- Makes rounds to adequately maintain patient’s equipment, therapeutic listings
- Reports identified unusual patient conditions/reactions to immediate supervisor
- Prepares electronic documentation of all work/service rendered and provides written/verbal report to oncoming staff
- Performs quality control on all cardiopulmonary equipment
- Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively
- Maintains safe environment
- Addresses patient population-specific needs
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care required- Current Texas Medical Board (TMB) Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) Permit - Required upon Hire
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required upon hire
- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required
- American Heart Association (AHA) approved certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required upon Hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Required within 90 Days of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Required within 90 Days of hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - Required within 90 Days of hire
- Minimum one (1) year of adult and pediatric critical care experience
