JOB SUMMARY:

Support, coordinate and supervise the sales of over-the-counter medicinal products as well as retail gift shop items.

As needed, work a supporting role of a Pharmacy Assistant/Cashier in the Pharmacy Assist the Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technicians as needed with Pharmacy operations while adhering to all applicable laws and regulations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

RETAIL FLOOR SUPERVISOR (Primary Role)

Under the supervision of the Director of Operations:

Assists in developing and implementing procedures for maintaining adequate inventory levels while maximizing sales of retail gifts and OTC products.

Responsible for ensuring all new inventory is properly received, input and then submitting invoices in a timely manner to process payment.

Responsible for fostering open lines of communication with Pharmacists and Technicians as it relates to additional support that could be provided from the retail operation as well as Pharmacy assistant support.

Provide a high level of customer service for gift shop retail items and over the counter (OTC) merchandise by greeting customers upon entry to the Pharmacy and helping in locating merchandise and being able to respond to customer’s questions about merchandise offered.

Assists and measures customers appropriately in the purchase of durable medical equipment (DME), Home Health Supplies and Compression items.

Displays merchandise in a neat, appealing manner in accordance with monthly sale promotions.

Accurately operate point of sale terminals to ensure accurate pricing and inventory controls.

Responsible for opening and closing procedures.

Responsible for maintaining par levels by restocking, ordering and returns of merchandise.

Updates pricing as needed for OTC and gift shop retail products.

PHARMACY ASSISTANT (Secondary Role)

Under the supervision of the Pharmacist In Charge and Staff Pharmacist assist in the role for Pharmacy Assistant as needed:

Taking phone orders, counting prescriptions, labeling bottles, answering routine patient inquiries, receiving payments and other front counter tasks.

Refer all new prescriptions, changes in prescriptions, questions from providers and customers/patients regarding health care to the Pharmacist.

Assist the Pharmacist as needed in accordance with the regulatory limitations of a Pharmacy Assistant.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must be at least 18 years of age.

2. Education, Certificate and Licensure:

a. High school graduate or General Education Diploma (GED) equivalent.

b. Associate degree or higher preferred.

3. Obtaining a valid State of Washington issued Pharmacy Assistant license is required.

4. Must be able to demonstrate proficient ability to apply mathematical concepts such as basic algebra and geometry to tasks such as calculating figures and amounts, discounts, interest,

5. Must demonstrate proficient ability to understand, apply and interpret an extensive array of information, variables and instruction where only limited standardization exists to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.

6. Must demonstrate proficient ability to foster professional working relationships utilizing strong interpersonal and communication skills organization wide.

7. Applicant must demonstrate ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.

8. Must demonstrate the ability to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, which may include but is not limited to computers, fax machines, POS registers.

9. Must demonstrate stamina to maintain attention to detail in lieu of interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 25 pounds; vision to read printed materials and computer screen; must be able to actively listen and speak clearly to patients and customers either via telephone, in person or in person through the drive-thru microphone system.

10. Manual dexterity to perform job functions and stamina to frequently stand for extended periods of time. Ability to tolerate areas with bright lighting and noise.

11. Must demonstrate proficient ability and practical knowledge of computer use and standard operating software.

12. Must have minimum 3 years’ experience in retail operations.

13. Must have reliable transportation.2-3 years supervisory experience required.

14. Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.

15. Must have planning and organizational ability with attention to detail.

16. Displays positive acceptance of demanding scheduling needs.

17. Works cooperatively and fosters teamwork by helping co-workers with essential functions.

18. Must be willing and able to adhere to the organization’s appearance standards.

1. Must be able to obtain (within 30 days of employment) and maintain CPR and first aid training.

19. Must be able to successfully pass grammar, proofreading, and composition testing.

20. Must be able to successfully pass background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
