Position Summary:

York County Trading Co., a well-established pawnshop in Sanford, ME, is seeking a Retail Sales Associate to join the shop in a full-time position. The ideal candidate would be organized, have cash-handling abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, and be very comfortable in a customer-facing environment.

Responsibilities:

-Provide customer service.
-Operate cash register and be able to execute basic math.
-Help customers understand pawn terms and contracts while processing loans, sales, and pawn extensions.
-Test/Clean items before placing them on the sales floor.
-Maintain an organized and clean store front/inventory space.
-Answer phone calls regarding inventory or pawn transactions.
-Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

-Previous Sales/Retail experience preferred.
-Ability to maintain composure in high stress environments.
-Strong communication skills; decisive and assertive.
-Enjoy working in front of, and with, customers on a daily basis.
-Organization skills a must.
-Must be 18 years of age or older.
-Must pass a background check, with no criminal record.
-High school Diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

-Light to moderate physical effort is generally required.
