Job Description Retail Team Member/Cashier and Scooper

Reports to: Kilwins Chocolates Kitchen General Manager Alecia*

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing products, restocking inventory, accepting payments, making change, and performing detailed cleaning duties in the retail store. Will receive training in customer service techniques, sales suggestions, cleaning/health standards, and general retail store procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Personally represents Kilwins Core Values, Core Purpose, Core Operating Standards, and Brand Promise.

2. Provide integrity, honesty and knowledge that promotes the culture, values and purpose of Kilwins Brand.

3. Engage and connect with every retail store customer by providing excellent customer service.

4. Greet each customer with a smile and respond in a quick and efficient manner to the customer’s requests

and questions.

5. Serve and prepare ice cream, confections, and fudge orders for customers.

6. Keep product stocked and help set up displays.

7. Follow proper opening and closing procedures, including completing daily opening and closing checklists.

8. Answer telephone calls and take phone orders.

9. Coordinate tour reservations using the appropriate system.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

1. Ability to operate a cash register and count back change.

2. Ability to work well with others, listen well, and follow direction.

3. Must be customer service oriented with good personality and manners.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. Previous sales experience is helpful, but not necessary.

2. Ability to follow directions/instructions during training periods.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

1. Regularly required to talk and listen to customers and coworkers.

2. Position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and other physical activities.

3. Occasionally lift and/or move items that weigh more than 50 pounds.

4. Frequently lift and/or move items that weigh more than 20 pounds.

5. Must be able to scoop ice cream for several hours at a time.

6. Effectively handle cash registers and accept payment, including cash, debit, credit card transactions, and gift cards.

7. Perform general cleaning duties such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, washing windows, cleaning tables, taking out trash, washing dishes, cleaning equipment, and other duties.
