Summary:
The risk analyst position is best suited for a motivated, dependable, team player who thrives in a fast-paced work environment. There is always evolving new challenges in the BSA, Bank Secrecy Act, and Fraud environment and it is crucial that the employee embrace change and have the ability to adapt to challenging priorities while achieving organizational objectives.
Understand your role as defined by the three lines of defense to maintain a compliance culture that includes risk management processes.
Responsibilities:
- Work in a team atmosphere focused on ensuring BSA and Fraud related items regarding accounts are communicated clearly and handled in a timely manner
- Ability to maintain collaborative relationships with all employees to facilitate support and good customer service
- Conduct statistical analysis to identify trends, outliers, patterns and insights relating to the performance and fraudulent or suspicious transactional activity of customers
- Utilize research and analytical tools to make quality decisions regarding BSA/Fraud alerts ensuring the prioritization in accordance with risk severity
- Work with the BSA Assistant and other Risk employees with assigned task (CRA analysis and reporting)
- Responsible for daily monitoring reports with Yellow Hammer BSA, and JH Silverlake
- Assist with preparation of reporting to the appropriate committees and Board of Directors
- Assist with managing data for KRI, key risk indicators or KPI, key performance indicators
- Assist with projects, account reviews, and research.
- Stay abreast of new and emerging BSA and fraud trends in the industry
- Back up Fraud functions
- Strong analytical skills
- Two+ years Banking
- Two+ years Fraud/BSA experience preferred
- Strong general banking and risk process knowledge
- Desired certifications or willing to obtain: CBAP, CFE, CAFP, and other industry certifications
- Fraud experience a plus
- Excellent communication, organizational and self-management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Ability to self-motivate and take responsibility for personal growth and development
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work load independently
- Aptitude to learn new software programs and job functions
- Ability to handle sensitive and /or confidential material and information in an ethical and professional manner
