Higher Shift Differentials: $5.50/hour First Shift WEEKEND ONLY, Evening $5.50/Hour Weekday, $6.00 /Hour Weekend
Nights $4:00/Hour Weekday, $7.00/Hour Weekend
Holiday Differential paid for holidays worked during the weekday

The Nursing Department at Catawba Hospital has an excellent opportunity for a qualified Registered Nurse interested in advancing in the Nursing profession by functioning as Nursing Supervisor. Shift will be Thursday and Friday days and Saturday night coverage with flexible scheduling, 36 hours per week.

Responsibilities will include staffing, handling hospital-wide emergencies, and supervision of staff by making rounds on nursing units.

Catawba Hospital is located in Catawba, VA approximately 15 miles from Roanoke, Virginia is a Joint Commission accredited inpatient psychiatric facility with 110 beds that provides comprehensive mental-health services including assessment, treatment, and discharge planning. The Hospital located in Roanoke County, serves adults, ages 18 – 64, and geriatric adults, ages 64 and older. Individualized treatment is provided through interdisciplinary teams, which include psychiatry, internal medicine, nursing, social work, psychology, adjunctive therapy, pharmacy, and dietary services. Off-unit programs in a newly designed treatment mall emphasize psychiatric rehabilitation, recovery from mental illness, and re-integration into the community. Catawba is a highly respected teaching hospital affiliated with several local colleges, as well as the University of Virginia School of Medicine.

Located in a beautiful rural setting, only 20 minutes from downtown Roanoke or Salem. Extensive orientation and training provided that will ensure your success as a new member on our Nursing Team.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia.

Previous supervisory experience as a charge nurse in a hospital, nursing home or mental health setting.

Stable work history.

  • A fingerprint-based criminal history check will be required of the finalist candidate for the position under Va. Code 2.2-12-1.1


Preferred Qualifications:

Psychiatric, mental health, or long-term care experience preferred.
