Job Description:

This Registered Nurse position will be working between the Operating Rooms and PACU nursing departments at Cassia Regional Hospital, located in Burley, Idaho.

Cassia has a 10 bed Same Day Surgery Department, 3 Bay PACU department, and has 4 OR Suites. We do an average of 6-10 cases/day with an average of 150-200 cases/month.

Shift Details : Position will be working 30 guaranteed hours per week. Shifts will be 4:00pm - 10:00pm Monday - Thursday. After hours call schedule is 10:00pm - 6:30am Monday - Thursday. No weekends or holidays. When taking call shifts, you must be able to report to the hospital within 30 minutes when called.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current RN License in the state of Idaho.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

(Applicants must either have required additional certifications (e.g. ACLS, PALs, NRP) upon hire or must obtain them within a specified timeframe determined by service line and department guidelines.)

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • RNs with less than 12 months of working experience as an RN prior to joining Intermountain must obtain their BSN within five years of their start date.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
  • RN experience working in Surgical Services

Physical Requirements:

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- and -
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- and -
Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- and -
Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).

May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
