Patient Navigator, RN – Radiation Therapy

Under the general direction of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and Center of Excellence Coordinator, the Registered Nurse (RN) Patient Navigator initiates communication with patients upon learning they have suspicious tests or positive findings. Guides patients through the health care system. Has a thorough knowledge of health care systems and medical terminology. Facilitates interactions and communication with health care staff, assists with appointments and helps patients arriving for appointments. Provides education and connects patients with community and social support services. Participates in tumor board presentation. Builds professional relationships with personnel involved in cancer care, referring physicians and other referral sources. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) License in the State of Utah or interstate compact required.
  • Current BLS (CPR) issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association Healthcare Provider required upon hire.
  • Five (5) years clinical experience in cancer treatment/healthcare field.
  • Experience working in medical settings and interacting collaboratively with medical teams is essential.
  • Strong computer knowledge
  • Work effectively in team setting
  • Annual web based online learning requirements.
  • Must have effective relationship building and advocacy skills.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and written.
