- Supervises and performs activities that help CJIS track and manage the daily operations of CJIS SaaS and VSP Information Technology (IT) developed solutions.
- Works with CJIS, IT, Network Operations Center (NOC), Information Security Officer (ISO), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (NLETS), Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) and SaaS suppliers to coordinate daily operations, problem identification, tracking and resolution, outages, and change management.
- Supervises and performs system user administration and audits in coordination with CJIS management, IT, NOC, ISO, VITA and SaaS solution suppliers.
- Leads document management projects and supports the Perceptive Content Software Administrator.
- Communicates with management and system users, including system-wide communications, related to system performance, changes and outages.
- Coordinates system user training activities.
- Maximizes performance and morale through effective leadership.
- Supervises assigned staff by establishing priorities, evaluating performance, assessing developmental needs, and correcting substandard performance and discipline.
- Communicates clearly and concisely with staff and encourages staff to maintain open communications.
- Effectively identifies and resolves personnel conflicts. Communicates safety issues with employees to ensure a safe workplace.
- Continuity of operations is maintained through cross-training and development of current desk procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Working knowledge of business processes and the use of automated technologies to support and enhance the automation of business processes, and of supervisory principles and practices.
- Skill in operating computers and using Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of computer software, hardware, and procedures; to evaluate SaaS supplier compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs); to supervise and lead a team; to plan and manage competing priorities and projects; to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve information systems problems to minimize down time of applications and personnel; to analyze and interpret policies and procedures; to work independently and as a member of a team; to communicate both orally and in writing in English; to conduct research, apply appropriate analytical and evaluative techniques; and to troubleshoot, formulate conclusions and provide recommendations.
- Detailed knowledge of and experience working with one or more CJIS systems.
- Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Experience documenting and helping to resolve computer application problems is required.
- An equivalent combination of training and experience indicating possession of the preceding knowledge, skills and abilities may substitute for this education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduation from college with a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred.
- Experience as a user support person for enterprise software applications preferred.
