Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong background as a safety professional to join our team. The Safety Coordinator is pivotal in supporting the efforts of our Safety Team to comply with regulations from Federal, State, Company, and other agencies. The primary focus will be to ensure that all employees have a safe work environment to perform their duties, and will be an integral part of the team, providing timely information and decision-making data to help team members maximize their efforts to achieve our ultimate goal of ensuring that every employee returns home as healthy as they arrived at work.
Responsibilities will include developing safety policies and procedures, organizing team meetings, assisting in resolving safety issues, coordinating audits and inspections, tracking corrective actions and incident data, and reviewing important safety documents. As a critical member of our team of dedicated safety professionals, you must be detail-oriented and committed to ensuring that all safety protocols are followed in the workplace.
Primary Duties:
· Documentation and Record Keeping
o Maintain employee safety and training records, including distribution of training materials for operational units.
o Maintain records of facilities inspections, corrective actions, training documentation, and document control.
o Ensure compliance with all OSHA recordkeeping requirements.
· Inspections and Investigations
o Conduct routine and follow-up safety and hazard inspections of existing facilities.
o Coordinate the investigation of accidents and incidents to identify their root causes and to determine how they might be prevented in the future along with analyzing accident and incidents for trends.
o Conduct routine and follow-up safety and hazard inspections of existing facilities.
o Coordinate on-site inspections, assessments, surveys, and program evaluations to identify potential hazards, and ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations.
· Workers Comp
o Keep employee injury files up-to-date by maintaining records of all reported injuries and updating medical records as they are submitted. Coordinate with site or area managers to ensure compliance with Workers Compensation systems utilized throughout different states.
o Coordinate care and requirements with site or area managers.
· Lock Out/Tag Out
o Conducting regular inspections of lockout/tagout devices and procedures to ensure that they are up-to-date and effective.
o Providing training and guidance to employees on lockout/tagout procedures and safe work practices.
· Promote and maintain a safe work environment and a culture consistent with Versova’s Guiding Principles and Core Values.
· Communication
o Regularly communicate with team members and stakeholders to optimize individual and team performance. Provide data for verification and distribution to help leadership make informed decisions.
Requirements:
· A bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Safety, or related technical field (preferred).
· In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
· 3-5 years’ experience in developing, implementing, and enforcing safety programs and protocols.
· Must have experience with Microsoft Office programs. Microsoft Excel is used extensively in this role.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong reasoning and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to make good judgments and render good decisions based on evaluation of provided information.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Ability to travel as needed.
· Bi-lingual strongly preferred.
Physical Demands:
The Safety Coordinator must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, and work in various environments, including outdoors and in confined spaces.
Work Environment:
The Safety Coordinator will work primarily in the field at our locations and will also be required to conduct safety inspections in various locations, including manufacturing facilities, barns housing live poultry, and other areas where potential hazards may exist. The job may require some local travel.

Pay: $42,033.96 - $87,475.52 per year
