The ideal candidate for a Safety Leader would be able to do the following:
- Develops, manages and implements Corporate safety compliance programs and procedures and may perform or coordinate related training in each department (safety day training) such as, but not limited to: Hazard Communications, Lockout/Tagout, Hearing Conservation, Powered Industrial Trucks, ergonomics.
- Assist in developing and implementing Corporate environmental compliance programs and procedures and may perform or coordinate related training at the facility such as storm water pollution prevention plans and plant recycling programs to be commensurate with State and Federal standards.
- Performing housekeeping and safety audits, making observation and recommendations to remediate hazards and unsafe conditions. Recommend changes in policies, procedures, work environment and equipment to prevent accidents and illness.
- Assist Value Stream Manager in investigating injuries and near miss incidents and application of countermeasures.
For a candidate to be successful as a Safety Leader, they must have:
- Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Occupational Safety or Environmental Management;
- Minimum 3 – 5 years of practical experience in safety/environmental management in an industrial setting;
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and training abilities;
