Local degreed marketing and sales manager in our Sedalia, Mo. office.
The Marketing and Sales Manager is responsible in the growth and profitability of one or more
bullet /ammunition product category(s). The Sierra Marketing & Sales Manager is a key team member insuring products are positioned competitively in the marketplace and are appropriately configured and featured to compete in current market conditions. This entails responsibilities in updating existing products as well as assisting with the introduction of new products into the market, positioning these products, and monitoring product life cycles. This position interfaces with many departments within the company including Manufacturing, Planning, R&D, Customer & Consumer Service, and Sales. Sales & Marketing Managers are required to have strong communication skills both written and verbal across cross functional teams to complete key tasks. The position is responsible for driving and supporting Sierra Sales and working with the Director Marketing/Sales as well as the VP of OEM sales to help with visibility towards monthly sales goals. This position requires motivation, self-discipline, attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to understand financial and market, analysis and preparing financial, and other P&L reporting documents that measure project and product line performance. Must have a solid understanding and grasp of technical concepts as they relate to product design and manufacturing related ammunition. Requires 25%-50% domestic travel.
Requirements:Principal Duties and Accountabilities (*Essential Functions)
Develop and maintain strategic product plans that provide world class innovation and product leadership to all customer channels including commercial, DOD/LE, and international markets
Manage and be the primary champion for growth and profitability within the ammunition business not only developing the strategy, but employing the plan to achieve
Coordinate market research activities that quantitatively support product strategies
Establish product and packaging specifications
New product pricing recommendations
Margin analysis and financial projections
NPI Product forecasts
Direct interaction with Research and Development and Manufacturing – specific focus on interaction with Engineering
Catalog content for bullet and ammunition products under their management
Price list and program production
Assist Marketing Director and Marketing Agencies in developing Trade show displays (SHOT, IWA, NRA)
Sales and Customer support including but not limited to a handful of key Tier 1 sales accounts.
Conduct product training for field sales representatives, field sales support, writers and internal team
Work with Marketing/Sales Director to monitor budget
Research market opportunities for Sierra
Maintain competitive pricing and program matrices
Develop appropriate “Sales Sheets” for customer and rep usage
Assist in Catalog editing, revisions, and production
Maintain and develop sample lists and requirements
Responsible for managing pro-staff of key Sierra “super-fans”
Responsible for go to market activities tied to Sierra social, media, web actions to drive better brand presence for Sierra.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree required. MBA preferred. Two years minimum product management or product development experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) software.

Safety Shoes meeting OSHA/ANSI Z-41 specifications are required for anyone working in the production department. Anyone working on the ammunition loading equipment or working in the Ballistic Lab are also required to have electrostatic dissipative (ESD) shoes.
