JOB SUMMARY

The role focuses on designing flexible metal products to match customer needs and applicable design codes and requires working closely with inside sales, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, purchasing and quality team members.

We recognize the value of equipping engineers with sales skills given the critical technical expertise they can provide in servicing existing and acquiring new customers. Once up to speed on product knowledge and the industry, we expect engineers to assume a role that also focuses on managing and developing key customer relationships. This will require some travel. Compensation includes base salary with an additional bonus for meeting/exceeding sales plan within the given territory.

This position will be based out of any of our 3 locations (Gilbertsville, PA.; Boca Raton, FL.; Houston, TX.), with an initial training period in Gilbertsville, PA.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overall, this position is responsible for the overall customer base and sales plan achievement for the assigned territory.
  • To achieve success, the Sales Engineer will need to cultivate relationships with existing customers & prospective accounts while driving continued market share gain within the territory.
  • Provides customers with technical support and product training.
  • Quotes assemblies per customer requests via the use of CAD, ERP and FEA software.
  • Designs products to meet customer needs and applicable design codes, including ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII, EJMA and/or EU PED. Products include metal hose, bellows, assemblies and expansion joints.
  • Supports inside sales, marketing, manufacturing, purchasing and quality as needed.
  • Delivers technical analysis of competitor products.
  • Keeps informed on latest innovations and emerging technologies.

IDEAL BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

  • Mechanical Engineering or similar field of study.
  • 2D design software (AutoCAD, Inventor, Mechanical Desktop, etc.)
  • 3D design software (Solid Works, etc.)
  • Must be able to complete detailed mathematical and engineering calculations.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Experience working with customers.
  • Experience in relevant design or industry work (metal forming) a plus.
  • Finite element analysis (Cosmos, Solid Works, etc.) skills a plus.
  • Pipe stress analysis (AutoPipe, Caesar, etc.) skills a plus.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems or other similar programs a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
