SUMMARY: The Sales Estimator manages the development of estimates, quotes, and proposals on all Company products and services to meet the needs of our customers. Individuals in this position must have in depth knowledge of product application, product design, and industry standards. Sales Estimators are primarily focused on sales activity evaluating new opportunities to determine the Company’s ability to manufacture products that meet customer requirements. Once that determination has been made, they specify and quote standard product or prepare cost estimates for non-standard product. After the sale, the Sales Estimator supports engineers and production personnel in the design, build, testing, and installation of finished products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: ( Other duties may be assigned)
  • Develop, oversee, and facilitate the development of proposals by cross-functional teams
  • Review opportunities (RFQ’s) and specify company product to meet customer applications
  • Review drawings and specifications from customers to estimate company product and services for inclusion in quotes and proposals
  • Quickly and effectively prepare quotations on all LogistiQ products to distributors and end use customers
  • Provide phone support and sales, including technical support to Logistic distributors and customers
  • Help drive sales by supporting sales activity of Business Development Managers and Sales Managers
  • Interact with customers while developing product solutions and closing new business
  • Prepare cost estimates for non-standard products
  • Prepare, send, and follow-up on quotations as assigned
  • Other duties may be assigned

  • Knowledge of product design and shop floor processes as required to estimate product cost
  • Knowledge of fundamental calculations supporting product design
  • Basic knowledge of electrical controls
  • Excellent people skills as required for customer interaction and to team with other LogistiQ personnel in meeting customer expectations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Position requires a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering or related area, and experience with conveyor and/or oven products.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as proposals, engineering drawings, specifications, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Excellent math skills are required including the ability to perform calculations while constructing quotations. Employee must be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry as well as to calculate and analyzes numbers while controlling costs within a stated budget.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Must be proficient at Microsoft Office products and possess adequate skill to navigate and work within company’s ERP and CRM software. Excellent typing skills are required. Basic understanding of CAD packages as needed to clarify customer RFQ’s.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. Employee will be exposed to materials that have SDS sheets but are not life threatening.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
