About the role
The Sales Manager Automotive OEMs and Fleets will be responsible for leading business development and DC project execution, sales, and customer engagement for current and potential OEM and Fleet partners, a critical customer segment for Tritium’s continued business growth. The position will report directly to the Vice President of Sales, Americas. These segments will include (amongst others) automotive OEMs, ridesharing operators, last mile and middle mile delivery, over the road transit, and light, medium and heavy-duty fleets and fleet leasing entities. The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic Go-To-Market sales plan, identifying OEM and fleet market segment opportunities. This role heavily represents the Tritium brand at industry trade shows to meet current and prospective customers and partners. In addition the position works with Global Sales to lead the delivery of Request For Proposals (RFP), Request for Information (RFI) and Request For Quote (RFQ).. The candidate will also be responsible for monitoring the Class 2-8 transportation market, leading efforts on market and competitive intelligence, and providing market input into fleet and OEM product offerings as the market evolves. The position will be remote, with a preference to be in a major metropolitan area ideally near US offices of automotive OEMs.
About You
- Lead business development efforts for Tritium Automotive, OEM and Fleet segments including strategy and execution.
- Establish and nurture senior level relationships with key stakeholders among automotive OEMs, fleet OEMs, fleet network partners, fleet leasing companies, rideshare firms and dealership organizations.
- Actively build, manage and grow a substantial pipeline of new opportunities generating increasingly higher close ratios as the pipeline matures.
- Identify business opportunities, drive, and manage RFI, RFQ and tender processes and negotiate, secure and close contracts.
- Develop cross functional collaboration with other Tritium team members, supporting one another and sharing expertise on new product offerings, quote review approvals, proposal preparation/submissions for new contract development.
- Be the “go-to” subject matter expert within Tritium for these segments including staying up-to-date and knowledgeable on market trends and changes.
- Attend fleet-oriented conferences, meetings, and industry events to network and develop new business relationships.
- Support DC charging infrastructure project execution in concert with Sales Support Engineer
- Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business Management or a related field.
- Ability to develop high level, C-Suite relationships and conduct successful negotiations with customers.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of the business potential.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in account and sales management preferably in fleet sales or related industries with a proven track record landing new business and growing sales with previously acquired customers.
- 3-5 years demonstrated performance across the full cycle of business management activities from prospecting to contract execution, post-sale support and account planning and management.
- EV technology/charging infrastructure ideally with 1-year in DC charging technology
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication, presentation skills both in person and virtual.
- 35% travel for customer meetings, trade events and customer events at Tritium facilities in TN and LA.
