J.J. Nichting is seeking a high energy, self-motivated individual to join our team as a Sales Representative. This representative would be mainly serving the greater Cedar County area. Ideal candidates would be living in Cedar County as well.
J.J. Nichting is a leading implement dealer in the tri state area of Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri of top manufacturing lines like CASE IH. The ideal candidate will be driven to build long-lasting relationships with our customers and meet their needs with energy and a focus on customer satisfaction. Candidate will prospect and generate new agriculture equipment business as well as perform cold calls in the field to generate new permanent sales. This candidate should be able to support existing clients and conduct product demonstrations.
Responsibilities:
- Serves customers by selling products and meeting customer needs.
- Services existing accounts and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential customers.
- Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential customer needs.
- Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
- Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.
- Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
- Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in local Ag related entities.
- Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience in equipment sales with a strong track record of success.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Customer service experience and mentality.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goal.
- Agriculture background, specifically with livestock and hay equipment.
- Access to and experience with technology.
- Valid Driver's License.
Schedule:
- Full-time Monday to Friday
- Occasional Saturdays

- Base salary plus potential for commission
