SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Scale Master is responsible for customer interactions regarding purchases and outbound loads at the Retail Ferrous Scale.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
- Documenting the weight, grade, deductions (if necessary) of purchases of inbound loads of materials
- Collecting customer data, and all other legally required facets of the graded commodity. i.e. The State of TN requires a signature, thumbprint, valid photo id, and a 5-day voucher or mailed check for copper or catalytic converter purchases
- Creating and tracking the weights and grades of outbound loads of material
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- Ability to understand, simplify and communicate complex functionality to customers, partners, and colleagues
- Must be professional, courteous and articulate when dealing with customers
- Excellent basic math and documentation skills
- High attention to detail when dealing with materials and paperwork
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
- Material upgrading
- Shrinkage of ferrous inventory
COMMUNICATIONS REQUIRED
- Documentation of daily loads in Scrap Dragon
- Verbal communications with customers to provide direction, and explain deductions
- Radio communication with yard
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position will be working 70% office environment, 30% outside/yard environment. If travel is required, the normal automobile and air travel hazards will apply.
- Include physical demands – standing, lifting, other expectations or occasional tasks.
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES AND EDUCATION
- Three to five years metal recycling experience, preferred
- Experience working with, or willing to learn Yard Management software (SDX)
- Experience working with, or willing to learn our administrative software (ADP)
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Proficient in spoken and written English. Additional language is a plus.
Authorized to work in the United States.
