CAREER LADDER TITLE: SME I, II, III
LOCATION: Huntsville, AL (NASA Marshall Space Flight Center)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The scheduler will support NASA under the CPSS contract at MSFC (Marshall Space Flight Center).
- Provides expertise to distribute, manage, and coordinate technical schedules for large-scale and medium-scale programs, include Integrated Master Plans (IMPs) and Integrated Master Schedules (IMSs)
- Shall be experienced with implementing and managing integrated scheduling tools to provide expert guidance and implementation support to project control personnel in integrating schedule and resource data through resource-loaded schedules within an automated schedule management tool.
- Shall thoroughly understand EIA-748 standard Earned Value Management (EVM) principles as they relate to schedule and technical performance measures.
- Has extensive experience using various commercial schedule management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project and Primavera).
- Has extensive experience implementing probabilistic schedule risk assessment and schedule health processes and techniques.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be a U.S. Citizen and complete a U.S. government background investigation.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- NASA experience preferred.
- Desired 15+ years combined work experience. Minimum of 10 years of “hands-on” CPM Scheduling experience, including schedule health analysis and risk analysis.
- Desire a minimum of five (5) years prior NASA or aerospace experience.
- Experience using software like Acumen Fuse, Milestones Professional, Onepager Professional, and Sharepoint is highly desired.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Powerpoint, Word, etc.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and complete a U.S. Government background investigation.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or other related certifications desirable
- Membership with the Project Management Institute (PMI) and the College of Performance Management (CPM) is a plus.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work Environment- Generally an office environment but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
- Physical Requirements- Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods). It may require lifting and carry up to 10 lbs. (5% of the time).
- Equipment and Machines- Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
- Attendance- Regular attendance by the established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside the regular schedule and adjust the schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.
- Other Essential Functions- Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. A professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation must be implemented. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
