Scholarship Technician
Student Financial Services
FT/PT/Temp: Full-time
Status: Non-exempt
Reports to: Scholarship Operations Manager
LOCATION: Remote (must have the flexibility to occasionally meet in person)
Objective: This position contributes to the operational excellence of Student Financial Services by performing a wide range of technical institutional aid duties that support Student Financial Services workflows which allow for accurate, timely, and compliant processing of Fuller’s scholarship and grant programs
Primary Responsibilities as Technician, Scholarship
- Responsible for the daily processing of student scholarship and grant programs as they pertain to application, awarding, and disbursement processes to deliver the highest level of service to students
- Acts as the primary contact for front-facing staff, students, and faculty in relation to student specific and scholarship program inquires; provides excellent service by responding promptly and professionally to student’s inquiries and concerns
- Collaborates with other Fuller departments and regional campuses that award scholarships to ensure the timely receipt and application of scholarships to the recipients’ accounts
- Learns and applies complex federal financial aid regulations in order to clearly identify the impact of scholarship assistance on a student’s eligibility to receive aid from other sources; resolve conflicting information in student aid packages
- Assists the Fuller Foundation, Development Office’s annual giving, stewardship, grant, and donor relation’s teams; answering requests for scholarship and recipient information as needed
- Assists the Scholarship Operations Manager with essential technical tasks needed to create and distribute scholarship application materials; assists with annual set-up of scholarship and intuitional funds in the Banner system
- Maintain current knowledge of legal requirements, procedures, and policies used in providing financial aid assistance; implement policies and procedures for federal, state and local student loan, scholarship, and grant programs; identifies and resolves federal aid over awards resulting from the receipt of unplanned intuitional aid and/or direct student aid to a studen
- Tracks the ongoing eligibility of multi-year awards and special scholarships for the timely disbursement of funds
- Creates and sends recipients scholarship award letters which clearly outline the purpose and Terms and Conditions of the award
- Other duties as assigned
Secondary Functions as a team member within Global Recruitment, Admissions,
Marketing, and Retention (GRAMAR)
- Partners with other members of GRAMAR team as needed and assigned to reach shared enrollment goals by delivering the highest level of service while creating the strongest sense of belonging to every student and learner at Fuller.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- 1-2 years of technical experience at the post-secondary level preferred
- Proficient in Google Apps
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel, Powerpoint
- Experience with Banner and other Student Financial Services systems or general data management systems
- Ability to compile, organize, and analyze data
- Ability to manage complex workflows and specific tasks within them with careful attention to detail
- Ability to work confidentially with discretion
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work
- Ability to meet schedules and timelines
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to understand scope of authority in making independent decisions
- Ability to review situations accurately and determine appropriate action according to established guidelines
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others in a diverse work environment
- Associate of Arts Degree and background check is required
- Must be in good standing with federal student loans, if applicable

Pay Scale:
Wage range the Seminary expects to pay: $20.00 to $22.00 per hour USD.
