School Based Mental Health Therapist
Position Overview: A full-time mental health therapist located within a school system who is responsible for providing clinical therapy services to children, adolescents, and their families, both individually and within a group setting. Clinical services include assessments, ongoing treatment, treatment planning, crisis planning, and discharge planning. This role will be highly collaborative with school staff and assisting with mental health needs as they arise for the district. This is a full-time salaried position with a Monday - Friday schedule. Sessions will be conducted in the school setting and via telehealth from our school office. Services are provided year round.

A mental health therapist employed by Alliance Counseling Associates will fully align with our mission, vision and values and foresee longevity in this position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Complete mental health biopsychosocial assessments for new clients seeking services. Add additional assessments/measures as needed for outcomes, diagnostics, informing level of care, etc. These may include: CALOCUS/LOCUS, PHQ-9, PHQ-A, GAD-7, etc.
● Utilize assessment measures consistently throughout the treatment process to inform care and outcomes.
● Perform ongoing clinical counseling services ethically and following all company policies and procedures.
● Conduct clinical services individually, with a family and/or in a group setting.
● Complete the person-centered treatment plan with the client and/or treatment team after the first intake session. Be sure it’s counter-signed by the client and/or guardian.
● Complete crisis plans and discharge plans for each client.
● Be reliable and arrive timely for your appointments and workday.
● Present yourself professionally in the office, schools, community and online.
● Establish and maintain rapport with clients, staff and colleagues.
● Complete daily time sheet to reflect sessions provided.
● Communicate and collaborate with the client’s treatment team and refer to additional services as necessary, such as TCM, CSA, TRP, medication management, or other needed support.
● Maintain contact with outside team members and agencies for solid client care. This may include a medication provider, additional therapist, school, PCP, etc. *Be mindful to always have a ROI on file to comply with confidentiality and HIPAA law.
● Assist our RISE Program Director with after school and Summer TRP Programming at the school location.
● Maintain confidentiality at all times.
● Be available throughout the school day to provide mental health sessions and work with our Client CareCoordinator to get new students intakes signed by guardians as quickly as possible.
● Attend all required staff or supervision meetings.
● Follow all laws and regulations for licensure and licensure renewal.
● Complete required documentation of all client sessions within 48 hours, with best-practice being 24-hours if you’re not engaging in collaborative documentation practices with your clients.
● TRP notes are due immediately after completing group services for the day.
● Communicate consistently with the Alliance team and reply timely to email, Google Chat, or other messages.
● Update your treatment plans every quarter and be sure to follow the golden thread of documentation.
● Complete required annual training(s) such as HIPAA and Medicaid Fraud, Waste and Abuse.
● Weekly direct client hours will vary between 20-35 depending on the needs of the students.
● Have a growth-mindset to not only help your clients achieve their goals, but to help you grow as a professional. We’re always learning and having a positive attitude is critical to success!
● Assist in writing blog copy, creating psychoeducational materials, worksheets for clients, and other creative-type copy assignments.
● Additional items may be assigned/expected.
Qualifications:
● Have a current, active and unencumbered license to practice counseling in Kentucky. Qualified licenses include: LPCC, LPCA, CSW, LCSW, MFTA, LMFT, LPA, LPP, LPAT.
● Be organized, detail oriented and able to manage multiple responsibilities that are both clinical and administrative.
● Be a team player who is ready to help.
● Be emotionally intelligent, eager to thrive, succeed, and learn. Recognizing that we can all learn from each other is important; being humble goes a long way!
● Be able to work independently, as well as within a team setting; flexibility with independence is a key part of success as a clinician.
● Have strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
● Have a growth-mindset and open to being challenged on limiting belief sets.
● Have a desire to be a part of the Alliance team for the foreseeable future.

Pay: $45,900.00 - $58,900.00 per year
