Job Summary:

The cook prepares nutritionally-balanced meals and snacks for children based on USDA and local state childcare guidlines. Ensure that meals are prepared and deliver food items in a manner that supports and implements family-style food service. The chef maintains positive, supportive relationships with staff,children,parents, and regulatory officials, while adhering local health department regualtions to ensure food safety. Able to work with other staff members and collaborate on ways to bring fun food projects into curriculum and for special events.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare breakfast,lunch,and snacks daily based on USDA Guidlines, and allowing of rsecond helpings for children, if needed.
• Meals are served in a timely manner to coincide with each classroom's daily schedule and maintaining holding temperatures of food.
• Stocks shelves and refrigerators food safety and efficiently with correct dating.
• Post all food allergy and food restrictions alerts in kitchen with child's name, classroom assignment, and detail description of allergy food description. Obeys and keeps trackof Allergy palns for children as it ensures to food that the appropriate substitutes are served to the correct children.
• Maintain a clean, safe, healthy enviornment through scheduled cleaningand frequent visual checks.
• Must be able to determine food temperatures and ensure food is served and stored at appropriate temperatures.
• Correctly clean , sanitize and stoe dishes and utensils
• Participates in emergency drills in accordance with company and licensing requirements.

Fiscal Responsibilities:

• Minimizes food waste while ensuring children are provided with minimum portions as well additional helpings of food desired.
• Works with memeber of management on food orders adhering to a budget and notifying management of any discrepancies in orders or price change.
