SCHOOL DESIGN OVERVIEW:
As a Dual Language Immersion EL Education partnership school, Adventure Elementary provides an educational experience that values intellectual rigor, respect, and inclusion for the diversity of abilities and cultures, biliteracy, and service to our community. The goal of Adventure’s dual language program is to allow English learners and English-proficient students to receive instruction in English and Spanish. Currently, Adventure’s dual language program is implemented in preschool, kindergarten, and first grade. Another grade level will be added each year as we grow our program, however, all Adventure students will have the opportunity to expand their cultural awareness and understanding through experiences with bilingualism and biliteracy. The long-term academic success of students is supported by Adventure’s commitment to understanding grade-level standards, introducing purposeful vocabulary instruction, and implementing thoughtfully planned lessons that expose students to rigorous, challenging, and engaging work. We put students' needs first while providing each student with equitable opportunities to access grade-level standards. We engage in inclusive practices. We work collaboratively. We believe students have the right to productively struggle with rigorous work and it is our job to provide scaffolds and various entrypoints to accelerate their learning.

3. BILITERACY IS A GIFT: As a Dual Language school, we embed oral language and literacy development in all that we do. We believe biliteracy is a gift we share with our students by holding them to high academic standards in two languages.
