Position Available: Fresh Fish Cutter
Position Details:
Halperns is looking for a fish cutter to work days Sun-Thurs, 11 am start. The production associate will be working in a cold processing environment with the temperature consistently between 36℉ and 40℉, adequate attire is required. The primary function of the position is to scale, trim, cut, portion and pack fresh fish to specifications requested by the customer. This is a full time, hourly position with benefits.
Required Qualifications:
-
Effectively communicate, both written and verbally, in English
-
Display basic math skills
-
Able to lift 30 lbs on a regular basis
-
Ability to follow the company’s Quality Control procedures as trained
-
Possess a positive attitude and work well with others
Preferred Qualifications:
-
1+ years of fish cutting experience, including the ability to breakdown whole fish and accurately cut portions to weight specifications in an efficient manner
-
Working knowledge of food processing facilities and proper handling of fresh foods
-
General understanding of HACCP and Quality Control measures
Position Responsibilities:
-
Maintain product rotation and perform ice monitoring
-
Assemble and store boxes, lid and liners used for fish transport

Read and understand order instructions from customer and fabricate product as dictated

Use a variety of knives and processing tools for scaling, deboning, skinning, fileting and portioning fresh fish
-
Weigh product and produce correct labeling for packing containers
-
Pack up product and organize completed orders for shipment

Work in a clean and organized manner
-
Properly clean and sanitize work spaces at the conclusion of each day

Other duties as assigned
