The Maryland Judiciary is now hiring for summer help in the District Court Alternative Dispute Resolution Office at the Annapolis District Court. Positions will generally last 90 days, but the assignment may end early depending on the needs of the court. Duties vary but may include the following: scanning, duplicating, organizing and archiving files; filing documents and retrieving files for employees; data entry and data verification; making copies; assisting with the preparation and execution of outreach tabling events and an annual volunteer appreciation event; and other related duties as assigned.

Education: High school student with applicable documentation authorizing to work in the State of Maryland, e.g., Work Permit (if required). Some college preferred.

Experience: Applicants need not have job related experience, but previous experience in general office environment and/or retail is preferred.

Skill and Abilities: Proficient with using alpha and numeric filing systems and the ability to sort, process, verify, proofread, create and file miscellaneous reports and documents. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications, specifically Excel. Well organized and detail oriented. Proficient in operating office equipment such as a computer, printer, photocopier, scanner, telephone or fax machine. Ability to communicate effectively with court personnel. Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions. Ability to sit for long periods and lift or move boxes weighing approximately 25 pounds. Ability to perform all essential functions of this position.
