Friends4Life (F4L) is looking for a compassionate, strong and independent Direct Support Professional and/or CNA to join our growing team!
This job is in a residential setting in Sandy, Utah providing care and support for three disabled female clients.
F4L is dedicated to providing exceptional assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our friends need individuals with a strong desire to serve and support them. We are hiring for both full and part-time positions. This is a mid-level position requiring CNA training or strong DSP experience with solid references from previous employer.
Below is a short description of how our residential program works:
- Residential (RHS): Our residential services offer the most flexibility in terms of hours as we provide services for clients in their homes 24/7. You will work with our clients to help them live more independently and be able to accomplish goals they have set within our program. This particular position requires lifting, transporting, changing, feeding, toileting, bathing and other sometimes physically demanding tasks.
- Shifts vary, but for the most part our shift are as follows: Morning: 9 am - 3 pm, Swing: 3 pm - 9 pm, and grave: 9 pm - 9 am.
- We are willing to work around (or even combine) these shifts and discuss alternative scheduling needs on a case-by-case basis*
Wage & Perks
- Starting pay is $14-15 hour depending on experience
- Company pays for Food Handlers and CPR First Aid Certification
How You Will Help
No matter which shift is filled, the ideal job candidate will be highly dependable and have a passion for helping those with physical and/or mental disabilities. Working with each of our clients, you will help foster a positive, encouraging, and stimulating environment, while also fulfilling the following:
- Cooking
- Cleaning
- Laundry
- Assisting individual clients reach their desired goals
- Engaging in fun and fulfilling activities with clients
- Assisting individual clients in meeting their daily needs, including (but not limited to) nutrition, hygiene, exercise, communication, socialization, etc.
- Supervising clients
- Documenting medication
- Tracking client progress
- Documenting daily activities
- Transporting clients
- Picking up grocery orders
- Following all health and safety protocols required by Friends4Life and the state of Utah
- Supporting and upholding client legal rights by observing the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
Minimum Requirements
- Applicants must be 18+ years of age at the time of hiring
- Valid driver’s license or state-issued id
- Valid Social Security Card
- Because of the population we serve, the ability to pass a criminal background check
- Ability to move and stand for prolonged periods and frequently perform physically demanding tasks
