Job description
FellowshipLife, is seeking a Senior Accountant (SA) for financial accounting and reporting oversight for two of its Life Plan Communities (CCRCs). Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, and as a key member of the site management teams, the SA supervises and delegates financial responsibilities to staff accountant and business office managers, working closely with the team members the position supervises.
The position is responsible for cash management, reconciling accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and general ledger maintenance, preparing account analyzes including monthly bank reconciliations, prepaid and accrual schedules, preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements as well as annual budget preparation and monthly budget variance reporting.
Other job roles include recommending ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue, preparation of documentation for annual audits, preparation of schedules for annual IRS 990 filing, and meeting with site Executive Directors no less than weekly and with the CFO and Director of Finance, as necessary.
The two site locations are in Whiting and in Woodstown, New Jersey. Each location has a Finance office that is established as a base of financial operations.
Qualifications:
Experience in account reconciliation and analysis, general ledger journal entries, financial statement and budget preparation
Prior experience in public accounting, a plus
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or another related field
Knowledge of accounting software
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and strong use of Excel
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
