Job description
The Senior Catering & Events Manager is responsible for the attainment of assigned catering/banquet goals tied to the overall performance of the hotel. The individual will be responsible for the successful event planning and overall execution of all Conference & Catering Events that take place within the hotel. The Senior Catering & Events Manager will work in conjunction with the Director of Catering to achieve the hotel's revenue and market share goals. The Senior Catering & Events Manager will interact frequently with customers and Guests to learn about their needs and develop relationships from which to earn repeat and expanded business This role will also serve as a mentor/trainer for members of the Catering Sales team. Management-level associates are expected to work as much of each workday as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities.

- Manage the department's day-to-day operations and activities, whereas the implementation of the selling strategy yields meetings and events space.
- Accurate administration and control of all Meetings and Events related reservations and blocks.
- Train & Develop Catering & Events Coordinators.
- Assign Group businesses/functions to C & E Coordinators.
- Ensure that the Daily Event List, Banquet Event Order/Guarantee Sheet, and 12-Day Event Schedule are generated on a timely basis and ensure accuracy.
- Grow existing relationships with assigned accounts.
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive friendly courteous and service-oriented manner.
- Maximize all Meeting & Events Sales revenue opportunities through up-selling of function items.
- Ensure the highest standards of Event Management are in place including building relationships with new/existing customers in order to secure rollover business.
- Build strong relationships with customers, Guests, and Team Members in order to gain a full understanding of their needs and work to serve them effectively.
- Conduct property tours and participate in trade shows, and industry and community events to promote facilities and services.
- Contribute to the selling strategy of the hotel.
- To support the Food & Beverage operations and room reservations team with information as required.
- To ensure all information is relayed to the Chef and Operations Team in a timely manner to ensure they can order and roster effectively.
- Develop a full working knowledge of the operations and policies of the hotel and applicable departments.
- Attend daily/weekly/monthly meetings and any other functions required by management.
- This position will answer to the Director of Catering and perform any other duties as requested.
